The rap community lost Young Dolph, born Adolph Thornton Jr, two days ago. He wasn’t just an artist but a family man that believed in changing the lives of everyone around him for the better. He worked hard to ensure that his family didn’t return to the poverty he fought to escape. He was smart and driven. He was genuine and supportive. Yet, he lost his life gunned down in front of a local business. This loss feels reminiscent of Nipsy. Another man whose business acumen, unfailing support and sense of humor made them adored by fans and artists alike. Another great man who lost his life in his neighborhood. Another man traveling without security as he felt safe. Another man leaving behind a wife and children. When will it stop. There are many that feel leaving your home is the best option for artists once they make it. Yet Pop Smoke lost his life in Beverly Hills, which is a lifetime away from the Brooklyn streets he was raised in
